Program Description (long):

Cote d'Ivoire, also known as the Ivory Coast, is a country suffering from extreme poverty and recovering from civil war. The people of the Ivory Coast demonstrate incredible resiliency. Volunteers are needed to work in the major city of Abidjan. Whilst the Ivory Coast is a francophone country, fluency in French is not necessary for this particular position. Therefore, it is an ideal opportunity for someone interested in learning French while volunteering. For this placement we are seeking a volunteer with an open mind, adaptability, and a desire to learn about poverty and development. In addition, the volunteer should be motivated to learn French, or already have a working level of French. If desired, we will arrange for the volunteer to take French classes in addition to volunteering.
