Youth For Understanding -Explore India

This program is designed specifically for students 18 and over and gives you the opportunity to immerse yourself in Indian culture and daily life. You will have Hindi language classes for two hours per day, three days per week and yoga classes for one to two hours per day, three days per week. You will then travel to Chandigarh to embark on a three-week bus tour of the Himachal Pradesh and Punjab regions with other students from around the world. You will have the opportunity to visit important historic sites in places such as Kasauli, Barog, Shimla, Manali, Manikaran, Kullu, Mcleod Ganj, Dharamsala, Dalhousie, and Amritsar and discuss them with your tour leader and group. While traveling, you will stay in hotels or youth hostels. A colorful traditional Indian farewell caps off your exciting summer in incredible India. It is recommended that you budget US$500 spending money for this summer program. Museum fees during excursions and the tour may not be covered. Optional cultural expeditions to historical places, museums, and evenings out may be offered.
